Sad Summer Fest
8.16.24 | Review by Kirsten Newbrough
The penultimate day of Sad Summer Fest in Columbia, MD last week was a day to remember. Filled with great music and great people, this nine band bill did not disappoint. Due to weather, the venue made the decision to move the show under the covered pavilion. Even without a massive standing pit, the crowd filled up the most of the seats by the end of the night and were cheering on every artist that took the stage. The festival grounds were even decorated with lyric banners that provided Instagram-ready photo ops.
Most artists played for the same amount of time to give everyone the chance to find their new favorite band. The all brought amazing energy and picked the perfect setlist for the event. Fans were crowd surfing all afternoon long while security worked hard to keep everyone as safe as possible. From Daisy Grenade and Hot Milk to The Maine and Mayday Parade, Sad Summer Fest is an annual event perfect for any alternative music fan!
